MEMBERSHIP MINUTES

OCTOBER 10, 2013

 

Attendance:  64 members

Location:  St. Paul Lutheran Church

 

The meeting was called to order by President Don Muff at 9:30 a.m.  Opening ceremonies were led by Gene Pollmann.  Invocation was given my Craig Ause.

 

Announcements:

Gene Pollmann announced that the road-side cleanup project for today has been cancelled due to the fact that a natural gas line is being put in and along the south side of our two-mile road that we are responsible for cleaning.  A spring clean-up will be scheduled for next spring.

 

Don Muff indicated that our club had an inter-club with Nevada Kiwanis this week.  

 

Muff announced that George Beran would like two or three additional members for his Wellness and Health Committee.  Interested individuals should talk to Muff or Beran.  Final committee assignments will be made this week and committees will be posted on the website soon.   Also, a new A/V committee has been formed with Dick Wilson, Chair and other members are:  Dennis Salisbury, Joe Traylor, Larry Vallery, and Leo Runge. 

 

Brent Pearce has a few members who have not had their pictures taken for the website and new member directory.  He is willing to take pictures in members’ homes over the next few weeks so that all members can be included in the website and directory. 

 

Humor:

Humor was provided by Dennis Tice.

 

Program:

Jim Cornette introduced Dakota Morgan, ISU Mechanical Engineering student, who in turn along with another ISU student presented an outstanding program on “Prism:  ISU Solar Car.”  They talked about their ISU solar car, the new model being planned and built this year, how students participate in the program, and other topics related to the Prism.  Truly, an outstanding program.  Lots of good questions and interaction with the speakers.

 

Next Week’s Program:

“Ethanol Production, 2013-2015” by Erick Hakmiller, President, Lincolnway Energy

 

The meeting adjourned by Muff at 10:30 a.m.
