MEMBERSHIP MINUTES

DECEMBER 12, 2013

 

Attendance:  65 members, 6 guests

Location:  First United Methodist Church

 

The meeting was called to order by President Don Muff at 9:30 a.m.  Opening ceremonies were led by Roger Andersen.  The group enjoyed singing “Jingle Bells” in a round and background bells being provided by many members attending.  Invocation was given by Brent Pearce.

 

Project Eliminate:  A short video was shown by Jim Cornette that explained the background and need for Project Eliminate.  Video was provided by Kiwanis International.  Members were encouraged to donate to Project Eliminate.  Jody Melcher will be on our program on January 23rd talking more about Project Eliminate. 

 

IRS Rollover Opportunity.  Don Muff announced that members have the opportunity to make a donation to Project Eliminate and/or Golden K Foundation before December 31st by transferring funds from their 401(k) directly to a non-profit eligible organization without reporting the funds as income on their tax returns.  More information is available on the Golden K Website.

 

Humor:  Tom Leimer

 

Program:  John and Sandy Slaughter showed their slides from the trip “Moscow to St. Petersburg” this past summer.  Views of beautiful cathedrals and lots of nice scenery were enjoyed by the group.

The meeting was adjourned by Muff at 10:30 a.m.
