REMINDER:

Officer-Director Installation Banquet is on September 25, 2015, Ames Golf and Country Club beginning at 11:30 a.m.  Buffet lunch will be served with program to follow.  Entertainment is Golden K Singers. Tickets are $10/person.  Spouses and guests are welcome.  Purchase tickets by September 18th.

Attendance:  53 members

Location:  First United Methodist Church

 

The meeting was called to order by President Don Muff at 9:30 a.m.  Opening ceremonies were led by Gene Pollmann.  Invocation was given by Bo Farr.

 

Announcements:

1.      Officer-Board Installation Banquet.  Don Muff reminded members of the upcoming officer-installation banquet to be held on September 25th, 11:30 a.m., Ames Golf and Country Club.  Cost is $10/person.  Tickets must be purchased by September 18th in order to provide the Country Club with an accurate meal count.

2.      Farm Progress Show.  Tom Peter announced that today’s Farm Progress Show program has been cancelled due to heavy rainfall and lightning reported in the vicinity of the Farm Progress Show site.  He reported that for the previous two days that 26 members/spouses work approximately 150 hours and earned about $1200.00.  He thanked all those who worked at the food tent.

 

Humor.  Provided by Frank Howell.

 

Program.  Kelly Dickmann, Executive Director, Ames Planning and Housing, gave a very interesting program on “Ames Comprehensive Plan – An Update.”  He updated the group on the development process in Ames and what is likely to happen in the future.  Many questions.

 

Next Week’s Program.  Program next week is Steven Siemens, Past President, Kiwanis International (2005-2006) speaking on, “Inside – Looking at the Outside.”

 

The meeting was adjourned by Muff at 10:30 a.m.
