Attendance:  62 members, 3 guests

Location:  First United Methodist Church.

 

Presiding:  Dick Wilson.  Opening Ceremonies:  Roger Andersen.  Invocation:  Craig Ause.

 

Announcements.

1.      Paper Trailer.  Check received for 29,260 lbs. of paper @ $.015/pound for a total of $438.90.

2.     Dale Christensen.  Bob Ringgenberg introduce Dale Christensen as a new club member.  Dale, a former Kiwanis member from Lake City Kiwanis club.  Retired physician.  Resident of Northcrest.  Member of Golden K Singers.  Wilson presented Dale with a membership badge and pin.  Welcome, Dale!!\

3.     Kiwanis Shirts.  Interested in long-sleeve Kiwanis shirt.  Tom Peter is taking orders.  Needs a minimum of six shirts to complete one club order.

4.     Kiwanis Banner.  Wilson announced there is a 3 ft. x 8 ft. banner available for club use.  It features the Kiwanis label, 100th Anniversary celebration, and lists all Kiwanis Clubs in the District 11.

 

Humor.  Provided by Brent Pearce.

 

Program.  “Ames Community Schools – An Update,” by Dr. Mandy Ross, Associate Superintendent, Ames Community Schools.  Updated membership on construction projects going on in Ames Community Schools District.  Spoke about curriculum, teacher/student interaction, and commented on many questions.

 

Next Week.  Program is “Animal Flight – From Scales to Skin,” by Dr. Rhea Van Busee, ISU.
