Attendance:  69 members, 14 guests (Ames Noon, ATACK, Nevada [interclubs])

Location: First United Methodist Church

 

The meeting was called to order by President Jim Cornette at 9:30 a.m.  Opening ceremonies were led by Roger Andersen.  Invocation was given by Craig Ause.

 

Sharing Time and Announcements:

1.     Ballard Kiwanis Club.  Cornette announced that a new Kiwanis Club is being started in the Huxley/Cambridge/Slater area.  Our club will be donating $100 to help with start-up costs and having an interclub on November 18th.  Sign-up sheet is being circulated.  Hoping for at least 8 members (2 interclubs) to attend.

2.     Ames Noon Club.  Don Muff circulated a sign-up sheet for another interclub to the Ames Noon Club on Friday, November 20th, 11:45 am, Ames Golf and Country Club.  Bill Fennelly, Women’s basketball coach, is the speaker.  Need 4 members for an interclub.

3.     Membership Booklet Available.  Cornette announced that a new membership booklet is available.  Free copies provided to new members.  All others, cost is $3/booklet.  Available from club secretary

Program.  Speaker was Jamie Pollard, ISU Director of Athletics, who spoke on “ISU Athletic Program.”  Updated the group on current status of athletic programs and answered many, many questions.

 

Next Week.  Program is “Travelling in the Land of the Midnight Sun,” by Arnild Hillesland

 

The meeting was adjourned by Cornette at 10:30 a.m.
