The meeting was called to order by President Don Muff at 9:30 a.m. Opening ceremonies were led by Roger Andersen. Invocation was given by Craig Ause.
Announcements:
Guests. Craig Textor and Horace Lantz were introduced as guests.
New Member. Dennis Senne has applied for club membership. Formal induction will be on December 5, 2013.
Story County Philanthropy Meeting. Duane Brodie and John Johnson attended and reported that Story County Kiwanis Clubs were honored for their community service activities in Story County.
Teen Maze. Duane Brodie reported that the Teen Maze planning committee met and is formulating a theme for Teen Maze scheduled for March 24-28, 2014
Project Eliminate. Tom Peter reported on the “One-Z” project for the club. So far, $960 has been donated for the third club Zeller. Goal is to have $1250 by December 31, 2012 for another Zeller.
Club Website. Joe Traylor announced that a new section called “What’s New” has been added to the club website. It will contain announcement of activities, up-to-date information about club, and related information. It will be on the “public” portion of the website.
Next Meeting. No meeting next week due to Thanksgiving. Next meeting is December 5, 2013. Board will meet at 8:00 a.m. on December 5th. Program will be “How Do Our Laws Get Written” by Richard Johnson, Iowa Legislative Services Agency.
Humor. John Slaughter provided humor for the day.
Program:
Bill Boon spoke on “Indians, Pilgrims, Thanksgiving, and the Mayflower.” Interesting program about the Pilgrims and their interactive with the Indians and Indian culture.
The meeting was adjourned by Muff at 10:30a.m.
