Attendance: 60 members, 2 guests
Location: St. Paul Lutheran Church
The meeting was called to by President Don Muff at 9:30 a.m. Opening ceremonies were led by Gene Pollmann. Invocation was given by Bob Faar.
Announcements:
1. Fred Walker. Fred Walker is making good progress and hopes to attend our meetings in the very near future.
2. Laverne Seversike. Remains at Green Hills Rehabilitation Center recovering from a stroke. Continues with physical therapy.
3. Tom Flack, Ames Noon Club. Gary Wade announced that the Ames Noon Club is trying to reach anyone who would know Tom Flack. Mr. Flack has some very serious medical issues and appears to have no siblings or other relatives who need to be contacted. If you know of anyone who might have more information about Tom Flack, please notify Gary Wade.
4. Nevada Golden K Interclub. Muff announced that there will be an interclub with the Nevada Golden K Club in conjunction with the Nebr.-Ia. Kiwanis District President’s visit on July 8th. Looking for additional members to participate. Meeting is at Memorial Lutheran Church. John Johnson is making final arrangements.
Humor. Given by Harry Budd
Program. “Ames July 4th Fireworks Celebration,” by Sara Buss, Ames Chamber of Commerce. Interesting program on “how the July 4th Fireworks” in Ames happen.
Next Week Meeting. Board of Directors Meeting, July 3, 2014, 8:00 a.m., First United Methodist Church. Membership meeting at 9:30 a.m. Speaker is “Solar Energy in Iowa and U.S.”
The meeting was adjourned by Muff at 10:30 a.m.
