MEETING LOCATION NOTICE:

September 25^th:  Ames Golf and Country Club, 11:30 a.m.

October 2, 9, 16^th:  St. Paul Lutheran Church, 9:30 a.m.

Attendance:  64 members, 7 guests

Location:  First United Methodist Church

The meeting was called to order by President Don Muff at 9:30 a.m.  Opening ceremonies were led by Gene Pollmann.  Invocation was given by Joe Traylor.

Announcements:

1.  Farm Progress Show.  Tom Peter presented a check from Farm Progress Show for $1260 which was payment for the club’s work in staffing a food tent for two days at the Farm Progress Show.

2. Committee Assignments.  Dick Wilson made one last plea for members to sign up for committees for 2014-2015.  Additional volunteers are still needed for the Facilities/Kitchen Committee.  New committees will be announced soon.

3. Ames Public Library Donation.  A check for $600 was presented to Geri Hyde, Ames Public Library for the purchase of children’s books as part of our charity donation program.  Geri talked about the books that are purchased and placed in the children’s section of the library.

Humor.  Humor was given by John Slaughter.

Program. Kathie Obradovich, Political Columnist, Des Moines Register, presented a very interesting program on the “Iowa Political Landscape.”  She talked about the upcoming mid-term elections and answered many questions.

Next Week Program.  Next week is the Officer/Director Installation Banquet, 11:30 a.m., Ames Golf and Country Club.  No regular program.

The meeting was adjourned by Muff at 10:30 a.m.
