Attendance: 65 members, 2 guests
Location: First United Methodist Church
The meeting was called to order by President Jim Cornette at 9:30 am. Opening ceremonies were led by Roger Andersen. Invocation was given by Craig Ause.
Announcements and Sharing Time:
1. John Johnson. Was welcomed back after having surgery.
2. Duane Brodie. Came home on Monday. Restricted to staying home. Can have visitors. Call before going to see him.
3. George Beran. Reported that his first granddaughter is getting married.
4. Paper Trailer. Is full. Another trailer has been ordered and should be arriving very soon.
5. Adopt-A-Road. Gene Pollmann announced that it will be held on October 8th, 12:30 pm. Meet in Holub’s parking lot. Should not take more than an hour.
6. Run for Roses. Don Muff announced that the Run-for-Roses will be held on October 11th. Meet at Ames Middle School. Is the 29th annual run.
7. Election Poll Workers. Club needs additional volunteers to serve as election poll workers at the upcoming general election on November 2nd. Cornette circulated sign-up sheets for volunteers. Can work either a 6-hour or 12-hour shift.
8. Golden K Listeners. Larry Trede reported on the Golden K Listeners program. Is proceeding very well. Students are enthusiastic, many good readers, and they look forward to having Golden K members listen to the read.
9. Meeting Location, October 8th, 15th, 22nd. Will be meeting at St. Paul Lutheran Church for the next three weeks.
