Attendance: 57 members, 12 guests (4 Nevada Kiwanis, interclub; 4 Ames Noon Kiwanis, interclub; 4 Roland Kiwanis interclub)
Location: St. Paul Lutheran Church
The meeting was called to order by President Jim Cornette at 9:30 a.m. Opening ceremonies were led by Roger Andersen. Invocation was given by Craig Ause.
Sharing Time and Announcements:
1. Horace Lantz. Horace passed away this week from a sudden stroke. Memorial services will be held in Green Room, Northcrest, 1:30 p.m., this coming Sunday
2. John Arthur. Received a plaque from Andy Webb, District Lt. Gov., from Kiwanis International for his years of service with Roland Kiwanis Club.
3. Ames Jaycees. Recognition for work with Good Neighbors-in-Need and celebrating 100 years this coming Sunday
4. Kiwanis Shirts. Tom Peter is taking orders for Kiwanis shirts. Long-sleeved are $25. Short-sleeved polo shirts are $21. Four colors are available.
Humor. Provided by Les Thompson.
Program. “Cultivation Corridor,” by Brent Willet, Executive Director. Spoke about their organization’s efforts in economic development and value added agriculture production.
Next Week. Meet at First United Methodist Church. Program is “Story County Conservation” by Steve Lewka, retired County Conservationist.
The meeting was adjourned by Cornette at 10:30 am.
