The June 8 Ames Golden K Kiwanis meeting included guests that were spouses/friends of  Golden K members.  The 85 guests and members were honored to host noted author Dr. Stacy Cordery, Iowa State University Professor of History and affiliate faculty member with the Women’s and Gender Studies Program and The Carrie Chapman Catt Center. Dr. Cordery’s program subject First Ladies and Their Electoral Influence was a fascinating as well as entertaining historical exploration of the positive and negative effects that our country’s first ladies have had on their Presidential spouses.
