Fifteen non-profit organizations located in Ames, Story County and Central Iowa were the recipients of a cash donation from Ames Golden K Kiwanis Club. These organizations are focused on serving children or youth or families that are most in need of their assistance.
Fundraising initiatives such as serving as election poll workers, partnering with the Iowa State University Dining program and the annual Ames Kiwanis Clubs Pancake Days were instrumental in raising the needed funds.
Receiving donations were Sleep in Heavenly Peace; Story County Raising Readers; Ames Boys and Girls Club; Youth Standing Strong; Ames Northwood Preschool; Cyclone AKTION Club; ChildServe; The Community Academy; Good Neighbor Emergency Assistance; St. Paul Lutheran Preschool; Ames Public Library; National Association For Mental Illness (NAMI); Bethesda Food Pantry; Food at First; and Mid Iowa Community Action (MICA).
