Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time. We aim to assist children and young adults, the aging and the needy; to improve communities; and to encourage international understanding.
The six permanent Objects of Kiwanis International were approved by Kiwanis club delegates at the 1924 Convention in Denver, CO. Through the succeeding decades, the Objects remain unchanged.
- To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life.
- To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.
- To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, and professional standards.
- To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive and serviceable citizenship.
- To provide, through Kiwanis clubs a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.
-
To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.

I’m Ron McFarland I’m part of Braver Angels and a Christian at Memorial Lutheran church. I would like to speak to your group about my faith as well about Braver Angels.
Which is A national movement to bridge the partisan divide and strengthen our democratic republic
WHO WE ARE
Launched in 2016, Braver Angels is a nationa grassroots l movement to bring liberals, conservatives and others together at the grassroots level — not to find centrist compromise, but to find one another as citizens. Through workshops, debates, campus engagement, and more, Braver Angels helps Americans understand each other beyond stereotypes, form community alliances, and reduce the vitriol that poisons our civic cult.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Ron,
Thanks for your offer to speak. I will pass your message to Dick Wilson, the VP in charge of programming for Ames Golden K Kiwanis. You’ll hear from him, I’m sure.
