  1. Hello!

Dennis Keeney was in to drop off household hazardous waste and indicated on his survey form that Golden K might like to have me come speak at a meeting. It’s been a while since I presented last time! I would talk about the Resource Recovery Plant and household hazardous waste. Let me know if you’d like me to come speak again! Thank you!

  2. My name is Elizabeth Beck. I am the Development Officer for the Ames Public Library Friends Foundation. I know that Jerri Heid, our Youth Director has been a presenter to your group and the Golden K has been generous in supporting youth literacy. But, I would like to come to a Golden K meeting to talk about what is available from the Library to your members and to update you on new initiatives and resources which continue to make the Library one of the best in the state. Thank you for considering this request. Liz Beck, Development Officer, Ames Public Library Friends Foundation.

  3. Hi, Liz. Thanks for your interest! As I mentioned in my emailed response, I have passed your comment on to the current and new leadership of Ames Golden K. I’m sure you’ll hear some response!

  4. Dear Kiwanis, I am Gary Fry I do administrative stuff for the Heart of Iowa Band. As you no doubt know our long time director, Don Dobell , died last December.

Since that time we have carried on without a director.

Finding a director who will volunteer time to work with us and do it without compensation as Don has proved to be difficult.

So I am reaching out to you to ask if you would consider helping us with the funds we need to hire a director.

In exchange I think we would reciprocate and help you with a fund raiser or two.

We have a private donor who has pledged funds for 2025

Our primary mission is to reach out to the residents who live in the retirement homes around Ames and Story County.

I would be happy alone with one other to come to a meeting to explain our mission and needs.

I think Don’s dad Dave Dobell was a member of your organization

    Respectfully
Gary Fry for The Heart of Iowa Band
