New Honors Banner!

Larry Trede, Ames Golden K Kiwanis Secretary, is shown unveiling a new Club Honors Banner during Golden K’s August 30 meeting. The banner was designed and created by Larry and his spouse Bonnie.  The Honors Banner commemorates all that is unique to the Ames Golden K  organization–its members {people}, programs {Paper collection, Listeners, Teen Maze, Inter Clubs, Miracle League Play Ball, Pancake Days}, and public image {Golden K website, Community projects}.  A blank spot was left on the Banner to signify Golden K’s continuing “Path to Excellence”.

Raising Readers 2018

Friendship Ark 2018

NAMI Support 2018

On July 19, Ames Golden K Kiwanis presented a $750 check to the Central Iowa National Alliance on Mental Illness –NAMI– to support their many activities in working with individuals and families undergoing challenges in dealing with mental illness issues.  Pictured, left to right, Golden K member Keith Folkmann, NAMI Executive Director Lisa Heddens, and Golden K member Doug Provow.

Good Neighbor Emergency Assistance 2018

Ames Golden K Kiwanis presented a check for $750 on June 21 to the Good Neighbor Emergency Assistance office, an Ames United Way partner agency, in support of their efforts to provide needed services to those requiring help during times of need.  Pictured left to right: Ames Golden K member Frank Howell, Lori Allen, new executive director of GNEA who will soon be replacing Mike Fritz who is retiring, and Golden K’s Glen Hillesland.
